In honor of Lag B'Omer our class decorated special heart banners that said we love our friends. We learned that so many bad things happened a long time ago when all the Jewish people weren't being nice to their friends. We spoke about the importance of being a good friend and some ways that we would want our friends to treat us. The children even spoke about some things we shouldn't do to our friends and reminded us of so many things we have spoke about this year already. The entire school got together in the shul and we had out own special parade to show just how much we love each other and being Jewish.

Our class continued learning about the days of creation and we spoke about how to sun, moon, and stars were created. The children know that the sun is out during the day time and the moon is out at night with the stars. Morah even taught us a little secret about how the moon is actually always out but we don't always see it. If we look closely sometimes we can.

Abigails Daddy came to join us as we celebrated her birthday. It was so much fun!

Davids Mommy came to our class and celebrated his birthday with us.

For Shavuos Morah taught us that Hashem gave us the torah on that special day. All of the mountains wanted to have the Torah be given on them and they all bragged and boasted about how big, or tall, or wide they each were. But we know that little Har Sinai just stood there and wasn't bragging to anyone and Hashem decided to give the Torah on Har Sinai. This taught us all a great lesson about how we shouldn't brag or tease our friends and that it doesn't make Hashem happy.

Mothers Day is a very special day and we learned about just how important our Mommies are. Morah read a couple of books about this to our class. The children each got a chance to think about what they love about their Mommy and make a picture of it. Our friends also got to make aprons for their Mommy. The children had a lot of fun doing this. Each of them said that it tickled so much when Morah painted their hands.

In honor of Mother's Day we invited each Mommy to come and join us and celebrate the day with their child. Here are some pictures of everyone having a great time together. In this picture we have Rebecca and Rachels Mommy baking challah with them.

In this picture we have Joshuas Mommy and grandma, Bina and her Mommy, Abigail and her Mommy, Boris and his Grandma, and Eli and his Grandma too.

This is how we set the table for the Mother's Day. The children worked hard baking these special muffins for each Mommy to enjoy.

We have been watching the caterpillars in our room slowly make cocoons for themselves and we waited patiently as they each prepared themselves to turn into beautiful butterflies. We even got to help Morah set them free and go outside once they left their special house.

We continued with the days of creationd and had the children look through magazines and cut out pictures that had to do with each day of creation and create a collage. They are hanging out in the hallway by our cubbies. They worked very hard and did a great job!

We also worked ona flower oroject where the children were given coffee filters and droppers and using waterpaitns they had to drop the paint using the droppers onto the filters to create colors aming flowers out of this. This helped to work on fine motor skills and they had fun doing it.

Our class learned about Lag B'Omer and we know that its importnt to be a good freind. so we made special red heart projects with a sign in it saying that we love our friends like we love ourselves. We reviewed how we need to treat our frinds and that we need to always be nice.

This week we have some caterpillar visitors in our room. We have been watching them closely and seeing how big they are getting. We are going to see what happens to them...

Since Passover we have begun to learn about our next theme- Our World. We began by learning about how Hashem created the world in 7 days. We began with the first day and know that he created light and dark (day and night). Our friends were taught that there are three different types of light-sun, fire, and light bulbs. We spoke about how each is used and we even went on a hunt for different types of light and we found so many.
Our class learned all about the letter S. We spoke about many different words that begin with the letter. We know that shadow begins with S. We went outsid to explore our shadows and discovered that they are not all the same. Morha even brought in flashlights for us to play with and discover with to make shapes and shadows with inside too.
As a treat we baked light and dark cupcakes- they were yummy!

On the second day we learned that Hashem created heavens and the earth. We spoke about what we find in the sky and on the ground. We went on a mission to find some clouds. We took out our spy goggles to help us see them better. The children realized that not all the clouds look the same and there arent always clouds in the sky. We spoke about the different kinds of clds and that really dark clouds bring rain and thats how we get rain. The children worked hard on the class bulletin board in the room making the sun, clds, and even rain drop all out of different art teaxtures. We spoke about water and that its very important. Sometimes it freezes and melts too. Our class made ice cubes and saw how they freeze. Morah even froze paint and we used it to make a masterpiece in the classrrom as we painted the frozen paint melted and went onto the paper. The children found this to be amazing!

Our class spoke about the third day of creation. We learned that Hashem created the plants and trees. Morah made a chart for us to see the process of how a seed is planted and then grow by being watered and given a lot of sun light. The children each got a cup of water with a straw in it to act as if they were the plant rowing bigger and bigger as they drnak their water just like a plant does too. They really enjoyed this and it helped them to understand it more. Our class even got the plant seends and we will be watering theses plants and put them into sunlight and watch them grow.

Pesach was a very fun filled andeaxciting time in  our Nursery class. We learned all about the story of the Jewish people having to work for the mean King Pharoh and how they cried so much. They made bricks that looks like the Charoset that we eat on Pesach. We also know that Moshe tried to go to Pharoh and ask to let the Jewish people go so many times, but each time he said no. Hashem sent 10 plagues and the Egyptians and Pharoh didnt like them. Morah taught us a song about the ten plagues. Finally he le the Jewish people go. Our friends know that there are 15 steps of the sedar and the song that we sing for it. We dip in salt water to remember the tears that the Jewish people cried. We know the significance of many numbers for pesach. 4 is for the four cups of wine that we drink. 1 is for the one and only Hashem, 3 are for the matzot, 2 is for the number of sedars that we have. Nursery friends worked very hard to make so many projects so that they can take part as much as possible in the sedar. Their hagadahs were lots of fun to make and they love seeing their own faces in them! We hope you enjoyed all of the projects. Our class joined in with the other Nursery class to have a model sedar so we would all know what to expect and be familiar with what will take ace at the real one. The children all did such a great job. They all knew what the steps were and what we do at each. They were able to sing the songs and answers all of the questions we had for them. We are so proud of them!

We in Nursery 2 have been quite busy. February was literacy month and so many of the Mothers came into class to read to all of our freinds. It was such a great experience for the children to welcome you all into our class and enjoy your company. Thank you to all those who were able to visit.

Joshua also had a birthday party here his Mommy and Grandma both came to celebrate with us. It was very nice having them join us as we ate cake, read books and enjoyed. Happy 4th Birthday Joshua! His Mommy also read to the class 2 special books that Joshua chose.

Purim approached us very quickly this year but we made sure to celebrate. Our class made many projects for Purim as you know. Morah Sarah's class came in and joined us for some fun. We sat as Morah retold the purim story. The children all got to dress up in their oistumes and get a trun to share with their friends what costume they chose. It was adorable listening to them and watching them twirl around and they showed their costumes to their friends. Both classes got to go on a hamantashen hunt and look for hamantashen that Morah cut out and hid all over the classroom. Baking hamantashen was so much fun!The children rolled out theor won dough, cut out the circle shape, folded them into triangles, and even chose what filling they wanted all on their own.

The letter we learned was the letter E. We know that E is for Esther, excercise, eggs, and more. Morah took out the colorful big parachute and we used it to excercise with and we had a blast! Running under it when more called our letters of our names, or when she said a color that we were wearing, even when we had to keep the duck from falling off while we shook it. It was jst a lot of fun and we had a workout while doing it. For breakfast one morning Morah even made us eggs to eat.
They were really yummy!

Paseach (Passover) is right around the corner and we have already begun learning all about it. Morah brought in pictures of all the different items we should become familiar with and that we will be learning about and showed them to us during circle time. We began to learn all about the story that we read about in the hagadah. Our class has started a couple of our many projects that we will be making to help us learn and understand the sedar that we will take part in with our families and also with our class. There is still much to learn but we are eager to see what Morah had planned for us next.
