Nursery 2 has been hard at work. We learned all about fire safety and we even got to go on a trip to the fire station. The kids had an amazing time there. They really got to see first hand all of the things we learned about in class. The firemen were so impressed at how much they knew.

Morah taught us the letter Alef. We know that aish in hebrew means fire and fire is hot. She taught us a fun song too.... Alef is for aish, alef is for aish, aish is fire, alef is for aish. We know that Alef is for some of our friend hebrew namess in the class like Larry, Eli, Eliana, and even Abigail. For a fun project we made our own fire picture by taking yellow paint and red paint and putting it into a container. We then dropped in some marbles and we shook it up. we learned that by mixing these two colors you get orange. The pictures really looked like fire! It was lots of fun to make! For alef Nursery friends also practiced drawing abba and imma pictures. They did a great job. we will send them home this week hopefully. They have made such progress doing this since september.

Eli had a birthday and we made him cards and a cake. His mother and Grandfather came to join us for a party. It was so much fun! Thanks for the presents!

Last week we began by having a silly hat day in honor of the new hebrew month of Adar. At our Rosh Chodesh rally we got to show our hats to all of our friends. There was even pizza for lunch! Yum!

Morah has  been teaching us so much about the next holiday- Purim! We read the megilla on purim and it tells us all about the Purim story. Our friends learned a few Purim songs. Our project was making masks of the characters in the purim story. We know that some of the characters werent very nice and this gave us a chance to spend time reviewing how to treat our friends and what to do when we get upset or angry. We even read a couple of books to help us remember.

We spent time reviewing the latters we have learned so far this year using wax sticks and forming the letters. While we did it we reviewed what sounds they make too.

We took a trip this week to the book fair. Nursery friends learned how much fun reading can be. We also know that books can teach us so much! While we visited the book fair we all got to pick out books for Morah to read. It was great. The children even got to choose books that they wanted to buy and take home with them. This was the best part! It made them feel so big to chosose it and buy it on their own.

We can't wait to see what Morah has in store for us next week!
